2012 – Public Interest Award Recipient

Tim Moerman, Marc Ward Feb. 2013Taxpayers Association of Central Iowa is pleased to announce Waukee City Administrator, Tim Moerman was presented with the first “In the Public Interest Award” for  his work associated with a regional initiative to accelerate collaboration among local governments for the benefit of citizens and taxpayers. Moerman was instrumental in an initiative that partnered elected officials and administrative officials from 17 cities and 3 counties in the Des Moines Metropolitan Area to review areas where regional collaboration could better serve citizens and reduce costs.

The award for “In the Public Interest” is a new award presented to honor an individual, local government or an intergovernmental project that best demonstrates the aggressive pursuit of efficiency over the past year. Projects are nominated for the award and considered by the Board of Directors of the Taxpayers Association.
